Discovery tour of Tulette
«Toustems libre» («forever free») is the motto of the people of Tulette. It refers to the medieval history of this village, which purchased its liberty from its feudal lord. Always at attention, its guard towers set into the older houses bear witness to the battles of the Princes of Orange and those of the French Revolution. The architecture of this little market town offers visitors sites marked by its history, from the start of the Middle Ages until our own day. Outside the ramparts, explore the Musée de la Figurine and its fine exhibitions; the tracks running through the vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône; the Notre Dame du Roure chapel; and the canals and waterwheel.
Inside the ramparts, with their towers and access gates, you can take a tour of the many monuments dating from the 11th to 18th centuries, including beautiful Renaissance-style houses, a listed church and the remains of a priory. A few steps away, you can see the paddlewheel that powered a turning workshop.
