Just 60 min. from Grenoble, beside river Isère, between Rhône valley, Vercors foothills and the Drôme des Collines. Close to some famous tourist attractions: collegiate church of Saint Barnard, Jacquemart Tower, International Shoe Museum, Shoe visitor centre. Stroll along little pedestrianised streets in historic centre (lots of shops & restaurants). 30 min. away: Valence (rivalling Romans), Hauterives (Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval), abbey of Saint-Antoine, Tain l'Hermitage (wines). Be sure to sample some 'pogne', a local speciality (crown shaped brioche flavoured with orange blossom water).
