Parcours Balade dans le Centre Ancien de Romans
Pedestrian sports, CourseThe historic town center boasts an original and diverse medieval and Renaissance heritage. The social organization of the town at that time is clearly visible.
To the south and north, the bell towers of the collegiate church of Saint Barnard and the Jacquemart tower symbolize the long-standing conflicts between the religious power of the canons and the secular power of the town's consuls, established in 1366.
Alongside the Hôtel de Clérieu, a fortified house of ancient origin, the bourgeoisie, enriched by the wool trade, built imposing townhouses.
Today, most of these are privately owned and can only be visited on guided tours.
Finally, the old streets reveal architectural details that bear witness to the city's development from the Middle Ages to the 18th century.
