Escarpin Girafe- Stéphane Couvé-Bonnaire
Carrefour de l'Europe26100 Romans-sur-Isère

Temporarily moved to the museum gardens due to work on Place Jean Jaurès The shoe museum outside its walls.

Inspired by emblematic models on display at the Musée de la Chaussure, these works pay tribute to the creativity and technique of great shoemakers such as Roger Vivier, Stephane Kelian and Charles Jourdan...

Jean-Luc Tamisier and Sylvie Favel, commissioned by the city, are responsible for this urban scenography and the design of the pedestals.

Hand-painted velvet calfskin pump in a gradation of stains. Carved wooden double heel in the shape of a giraffe's hind legs, covered and painted in the same way. Inspired by Stéphane Couvé-Bonnaire's creation.

This astonishing pump intrigues with its reference to the animal world. Its designer, Stéphane Couvé-Bonnaire, a young student at the time, took part in the "Exercise de Style" competition organized by the French Shoe Federation in 1995. This competition stimulates creativity and reveals young designers. He imagined and created a heel that evoked the hind legs of a giraffe, and caused a sensation. He wins 1st prize. Acquired by the Friends of the Museum and kept at the Shoe Museum, this model is accompanied by a zebra pump in the same spirit. The heels are made of carved wood and the fur effect is entirely hand-painted. Between dream and reality, her highly acclaimed creations fascinate and surprise.

Dimension without base of monumental version: L.2,75 X H.200m X I.0,95m
