In the majestic setting of the Château de Grignan, Jean Bellorini revives Corneille for our eyes and ears with an enchanting adaptation of Le Cid.

Perched on an inflatable castle, an artificial citadel, the actors take turns playing modern-day characters and the heroes of the original plot. Navigating between past and present, imagination and reality, HISTOIRE D'UN CID offers an invigorating rereading of Corneille's tragi-comedy: the impossible love between Rodrigue and Chimène, the secret of the Infanta and the despair of an aging father.
