The trail comprises 11 stations where you'll find explanations of our heritage. In this document, the texts correspond to the supplementary texts for the various stations.
Built around its ancestral and tutelary castle, Beauvallon is a commune of just 312 ha, compared with its larger neighbors Etoile (4280 ha) or Montéléger (945 ha), and for a long time sparsely populated with 400 inhabitants.
In the late 1960s, the commune grew rapidly, almost abruptly, tripling its population in less than 20 years. Its center of gravity shifted to the new neighborhoods. And yet, modest as it may be, the town's men and women have left behind a landscape, a built heritage and a history that urban development tends to obscure.
The municipality invites you to discover part of this heritage in the company of Emile. Along the way, panels will help you discover and evoke buildings, places and their inhabitants.
This beautiful valley was very popular in the past when, on Sundays, the people of Valentinois would come to Lavache (the commune's name until 1890) to cool off under its shady trees.
