Between truffles and lavender
Pedestrian sports, Hiking itineraryThis walk takes you along the paths that criss-cross the area around La Baume de Transit. The holm oaks are your guide: from the heart of the garrigue to the proud remains of the château in the village.
Park in the Place du Tricastin, in the Mairie (town hall) car park. Walk towards the street lined with plane trees and then to your right as far as the roundabout, heading away from the village. Then turn left onto the Chemin du Bassin (for vehicles, this would be third exit from the roundabout).
After the recycling bins, turn right into the Chemin des Rabassières and go all the way to the end. Then turn right and follow this road to the RD141 (take care when crossing).
Go past the big agricultural building and follow the narrow path past the house. Cross the Lez on the metal footbridge.
Turn right onto the track that goes past a ruined stone building, and take the first on the right at the corner of the crops. This is the Chemin de la Magnanerie. Carry on until you reach the asphalt road (the RD 117), go straight over and carry on.
At the next crossroads, turn right onto the Chemin des Buissières, follow it to the end, and then turn right.
Follow this street (uphill)l until it reaches a road (the RD 341), cross over and take the path opposite. From there, carry straight on to the "Serre Curnier" intersection where you turn right. Then turn first right onto a path.
Stay on the path until you come out on the RD 117. Turn right and carry on until you can turn left into La-Baume-de-Transit (take care crossing the road). Cross the bridge over the Lez and then turn left and go uphill towards the church.
In the first square, go up on your right, right up towards the tower, and take the steps on your left to reach the level area around the Château.
To go back down, go through the tunnel . Take care on the way down … take the steps, again taking care because they are uneven.
Turn right, go under the porch and right again, and you will find the shops, pizzeria, grocery and bar ... Do visit the shops...
When you reach the Cours du Mistral, go back up the street and turn right opposite the Mairie to return to your start point.
