Very beautiful panorama over the Rhone Valley and Vivarais hills.

Start at Place du Taurobole, far right: take Rue de l'Hermitage, passing under the railroad line. When you reach the vineyards, turn right onto rue de l'Hermitage as far as the cemetery after the Tain l'Hermitage winery. Turn left on the D241 towards Larnage, continue for 200 m and at the bend in the road enter the vineyards on a wide dirt track (cobblestone-covered ground, broken pebbles in the second part). To the right, take the path down into a ravine (water possible in case of rain), cross over and climb back up into the undergrowth (30mn): pass in front of a rock shelter, go around it, exit the clearing via a wide passage through undergrowth, vines, road to the summit. On the left is a crossroads marked Pierre Aiguille, where you can visit the viewpoint (or take the Pierre-Aiguille walk from Crozes-Hermitage). At this crossroads, on the left, a road is extended by a panoramic path. Two houses are marked "l'Hermite". At the end of the path (45 mins), along a "water retention" structure, follow a path down into the vineyards, stay at the top of the hillock, fork right then left, go down into the ditch, follow a ravine to a wide path halfway up the hillside, to rue de l'Hermitage, place du Taurobole.
