The Chapelle Notre Dame d'Allan, also known as the "Barbara Chapel", is located in the heart of the countryside, just a stone's throw from the old village of Allan.

The church was first mentioned on May 11, 1183, in a bull issued by Pope Lucius III, under the name "Sancta Maria de Alono": it was a Benedictine priory dependent on the Ile Barbe abbey in Lyon, which explains its name. This Gallo-Roman site, where fragments of dolia and tegulae mingle with medieval masonry, was probably supplanted as early as the 12th century by the castral chapel of Saint Jean Baptiste, built by the Adhemar family near their castle.Partly destroyed during the Wars of Religion and transformed into an agricultural shed, the chapel was saved in 1871 by Abbé Jouve, who had it partially repaired.the chapel was listed as a historic monument on July 27, 1924, and underwent further external consolidation in 1928.
