In rue Mazet, the former Ursuline convent is remarkable for its Louis XIII-style door in molasse, framed by two pilasters and topped by a low-arched pediment dominated by a very weathered cartouche.
The convent was founded in 1602 by two Ursulines from Avignon, Marguerite VIGIER and Sibille BUISSY, whom César du BUS, superior of the Avignon Doctrines and founder of our Collège, brought to Chabeuil to educate young girls.
The former Ursuline cemetery inside the enclosure was moved in 1789, during the Revolution. The body of Sister Régis SIBEUD was found there intact, and was immediately recognized as a saint by the local population.
