Le Lavoir de Puy-Saint-Martin et le réseau de captage
26450 Puy-Saint-Martin

Built around 1855 on the Champ de Mars square. In 1909, it was covered with a tiled and timber-framed roof. Restored in 2012. Supplied by catchment galleries in the Saint Jean ravine.

Built around 1855 on the Place du Champ de Mars, the washhouse was supplied with water from wells dug in the marl of the Saint Jean ravine in 1834 and again in 1867. Water was conveyed to the washhouse and other village fountains by earthen pipes from Bollène.
In 1909, it was covered with a tiled and timber-framed roof to provide shelter for the washerwomen.
In 2012, it was restored, waterproofed and re-roofed in the same way as in 1909. In addition, the rediscovery of the magnificent catchment galleries has made it possible to restore the water supply in all seasons.
