From the old village of Allan to the castle of Rochefort en Valdaine, you'll relive centuries of history as you follow this beautiful ridge path on either side of the Citelle river.

This tour is suitable for everyone. No danger whatsoever. However, avoid the heat of summer. There are no water refreshment points on the trail, so be prepared.
Start of the trail to discover the flora and fauna of the garrigue and beech-oak coppice: Parking lot in the old village of Allan, follow the yellow signs to Château de Rochefort. The signposting is very well done, follow the yellow triangles first 135 then 125. This is a loop circuit. Go up to the ruins of the old village of Allan and enter through the south gate. Exit on the north side, take a path on the right and at the Fontvieille Est crossroads, go up on the left. After a house, at the fork, turn left through an oak wood. At the picnic area, turn left, then 100 m further on, climb right under the pines. At the Echinière crossroads, turn left, take the chemin des soldats, pass the Jamot crossroads and climb to the plateau des Claves. Leave the track and take the left-hand path down to the Fontbrenoux crossroads. After turning right, cross a small stream. At Fontagrèse, you reach the D4. Turn right, cross the bridge over the Citelle and find a path between two houses that climbs steeply up to Château de Rochefort. Opposite the castle wall, cross the meadow to the right and descend a steep path to the old village crossroads. Take the left-hand path to Serre Pointu. Turn left towards Grel, and the circuit continues over the ridges. At the crossroads on the Serrie mountain, turn left. After the houses, take the Chemin de la Série to the left, then right. Take the D4 over the bridge. At Grel, take the right-hand path for 800m and turn right at the Jamot junction. You reach the ridge at "Moïse". Go up to the left and join the chemin des soldats, then back the way you came. Enjoy the hike.
