Les hirondelles

Les Hirondelles gîte is in old village of Pont-de-Barret, on right bank of Le Roubion, in the Drôme Provençale, centrally located between Montélimar, Dieulefit and Crest. Originally a Gallo-Roman settlement, this hilltop village surrounded by 3 mountains also had a flourishing textile industry in the past. Now there are artists' studios in the old mills, climbers on the superb climbing routes and walkers on the many hiking trails in the area. River nearby where you can relax and/or take a refreshing dip. Gîte close to the Diois and Rhône valley, ideal for travelling round the region, taking in its major attractions: Saou, La Laupie, Le Poët-Laval, Marsanne (20 minutes), Grignan and its château (just 40 minutes).

Tracey and Mark have renovated this village house to create a gîte for 6 people that has retained its traditional features combined with modern comforts. It has several levels and lots of steps, typical of old houses. Gîte open all year round. Ground floor: lounge, living room with open-plan kitchen. Garden level (basement): bedroom (queen-size bed) with shower room, WC. 1st floor: bedroom (queen-size bed), bathroom/WC, terrace with view of river and old bridge. 2nd floor: attic mezzanine sleeping area (double bed, single bed). Parking next to house impossible given its position on narrow street in old village but public car parks 200m and 600m away.
