Montoison, located at the gates of the Drôme valley, you can admire a magnificent panomara the Alpine foothills and the Massif Central. Discover this medieval village with its tower and the ruins of its castle.
We enter through the door Pavé and we go up through alleys and stone stairs to the top, the site of the castle built around 1201 by the Poitiers, counts of Valentinois. Restored in the Renaissance, it served as a prison in 1796, then was auctioned and dismantled. Its stones were used to build the beautiful church built in 1838 and later for the elevation of the tower that still stands at the top of the village.
Today, a route in the form of panels allows to discover the history of Montoison.
