Puygiron

A belvedere with views stretching from the Ardèche to the Pre-Alps, Puygiron dominates the Valdaine plain. The village boasts a 12th-century château, a botanical garden, a 300-year-old white mulberry tree and the 12th-century chapel of Saint-Bonnet.

The perched village of Puygiron overlooks the Rhône valley to the west, the Drôme mountains to the east, and the villages of La Bâtie-Rolland and Rochefort-en-Valdaine to the north and south. Located in the south-east of the Drôme, near Montélimar, the capital of nougat, the climate is pleasant all year round. A balcony of the Drôme Provençale, Puygiron dates back to the year 833. The château dates back to the 13th century, and part of it was restored in the Renaissance. When Richelieu dismantled the fortified castles, PUYGIRON, then owned by the De Béranger family, was transformed into a pleasure residence.
