The viewpoint overlooks the foothills of the Alps, Mont Ventoux, the Rhône valley and the Ardèche mountains. Lime kilns bear witness to the industrial past.
Its vast territory stretches from the Rhône in the west to the A7 freeway in the east, and includes two rest areas. Its 1,500 inhabitants, the Savassons, are scattered in hamlets around the Vieux Village and the Mairie. Four stand out: l'Homme d'Armes, along Route Nationale 7, Chabert to the southeast, les Auberts to the north and les Gilles to the northeast. Despite its proximity to the city of Montélimar, the commune has retained its rural character, with a strong agricultural base: orchards, vineyards and, above all, corn, sunflower and tomato crops. The result is a totally different landscape, depending on the season, which you can observe from the Rue du Vieux Village, a veritable balcony offering a circular panorama.
