Sur les Chemins de la Clairette - La vallée des Vignes
Pedestrian sports, CourseA closed valley, a picturesque village and, between 2 marly pine-wooded greenhouses, lovingly tended vines that hug the slopes surrounding the valley floor, creating a harmony that reveals what winegrowing is all about in the Diois.
From the fountain in the center of the village, continue along the picturesque hollyhock-lined lane that winds its way between the houses in a continuation of the one that led you into the village. It soon leaves the village, passing through just a few hamlets and offering lovely views of the vineyards below. When it reaches a last house, the little road drops off to the left, skirting a vineyard. Note the rose bushes at the start of some rows. More susceptible to disease than vines, roses are a good indicator of the dangers that lie ahead. By observing the arrival of cryptogamic or parasitic diseases on rose bushes, the winegrower is able to take the necessary measures to ensure the good health of his vineyard. The little road descends in fits and starts, fording streams that are usually dry except after heavy rain, before reaching the metal-railed bridge you crossed to reach the village. Now all you have to do is climb back up this short stretch of road to your starting point.
