Tour de la citadelle
The château is easily visible from the village heights. It was the property of the lord of Montbrun, "Charles Dupuy de Montbrun", who was a very active Huguenot leader during the Wars of Religion (second half of the 16th century). He took part in numerous battles, liberating besieged towns throughout the south-east of France.
Departure point: Montbrun-les-Bains, alt.610 m, parking in front of the town hall.
1. Take the main road towards Séderon. Continue for 800 m on the D 542.
2. Leave the main road and take a small road on the left, lined with lime trees. Go straight ahead at the first intersection. The road follows a small stream to the "Tremol, alt.650 m" crossroads.
