Probably built in the 12th century, this corner tower of the old town's first enclosure is one of the few remains that survived the destruction of the 16th and 17th centuries. It overlooks the Drôme and Rhône valleys.
Legend has it that this tower was inhabited by superhuman beings who kept watch over the fortress.
When a guard was brought in at night to keep watch at the top of this tower, at daybreak he would be found mysteriously asleep at the foot of the hill, and the doors would be closed.... He had seen nothing, heard nothing... He didn't know how it had happened to him.
