Randotrail circuits :
These are classic routes, circuits or crossing trails, alternating ascents and descents on paths or trails, more or less technical with regular changes of pace. They can be short, medium or long distance, with more or less elevation. A trail can also be in an urban environment if the places and types of paths taken are varied enough (stairs, alleys, green spaces, etc.) to make it fun and rhythmic.
The courses are classified into 4 categories of difficulty, according to a national rating grid (AFNOR agreement) :
• Easy: course without technical difficulty, less than 10 km and less than 500 m of elevation gain.
• Intermediate: course with limited technical difficulties, less than 20 km and less than 1000 m of elevation gain
• Difficult: course with frequent technical difficulties, less than 30 km and less than 2000 m of elevation gain
• Expert: course with many technical difficulties, more than 30 km or more than 2000 m of elevation gain
Timed / stopwatch Challenges :
These are timed trail runs using bluetooth connection that interacts with your smartphone. You can compare your time to the best times registered on these courses.
How to participate ?
• Download the application Baronnies in Drôme Provençale
• Open the « DéfiTrail » of your choice
At the start of the course, launch the Challenge by clicking on "Go". Near each tag, an audible signal activates once the tag is validated. If your smartphone does not detect the tag, you can try to unlock your phone or flash the QR code shown on each tag.
Once the challenge is over, you can validate your time and share your results online !
Workshops and verticals :
These workshops allows you to carry out specific training exercises. The verticals consist of a single climb. The « Espace Trail des Baronnies in Drôme Provençale » offers you 3 verticals for more uphill exercices: the climb to « Garde Grosse » in Nyons, « Les Aiguilles » in Rémuzat and finally, « Ubrieux » from Buis-les-Baronnies. The « club courir » in Nyons has also worked on two circuits: The 500 meters of the « Digue », equipped with metric bollards, to work on your speed. Another circuit is the number 8 on the « Col de la Croix » for fartleck sessions.
You can find some advices from the coaches on each circuit sheet!

Please note

  • Tips :
To familiarise yourself with the area, the routes are equipped with directional trail marks. The numbers of the circuit are indicated on each beacon, the marks are also color based on the level of difficulty (green – blue – red – black) or their particularity (example: orange = specific training workshops). The trail marks are placed regularly, at each directional change. Between two directional trail marks, follow the existing hiking marks.
