Tummo yoga, a frosty hike on the snow

Tummo yoga, a frosty hike on the snow

Winter sports, Yoga, Snow-shoes, Fitness

Tummo is an ancestral Tibetan practice of purposely exposing yourself to the cold. Modern science has confirmed its beneficial effects, but the cold is above all a path to self-awareness and an encounter with the natural elements, all within the traditions of yoga.

Participants bare their skin to better feel the effects of the elements, the wind, the snow, and even the sun. For 5 minutes or for the whole hike, you can wear a t-shirt, a swimsuit, or go shirtless, depending on how you feel, and on the weather of course.
During each hike, you learn a bit about the concept, and spend a lot of time practicing. Soon, your fear of the cold disappears, and you’ll begin to let go of the mindset holding you back. You might even start to enjoy the sensation!
With tummo, discover and fan the fire within !

Hiking level : 1/5
