Vallon de la Jarjatte
This recently listed sited, overlooked by the highest peak in Drôme: Le Rocher Rond at 2,453m, impresses by the originality of its sharp peaks cutting into the skyline. The beauty of this valley with a mountainous character is fascinating.
The valley hosts one family ski resort, hides in the middle of its beech-fir forest, above one mountain hamlet which has retained its original architecture.
The Jarjatte is the second classified site in Diois, after the Claps in Luc en Diois, for its picturesque landscapes since January 2012. The limestone summits appear from the forests and form a startling contrast between the 2 worlds: mineral and plant. This mountainous landscape, made with high cliffs and peaks, forms one natural and preserved area.
Few equipments, whose the family ski resort, are fit into the landscape.
