Le fournil
The medieval town of Crest in the Drôme valley is a 'must-see' destination for anyone exploring the Drôme department. Its castle keep (the highest in France and Europe) affords outstanding panoramic views over the Diois mountains. The bravest can even abseil down it! Les Trois Becs, Saou forest and syncline, Couspeau and hilltop villages are all waiting to be explored. Hiking, cycling, mountain bike trails nearby. Why not try kayaking down the river? Upstream are the Diois vineyards (Clairette and Crémant de Die AOC wines). Medieval fair Whitsun weekend, Crest Jazz Vocal festival in August.
